My Wardrobe

Dolly Duck
I finally made myself the Carolyn pajamas! I first made the pattern in 2016. The idea was to make a matching set for my sister and I. I made my sisters PJs, and my fabric is still in the stash… But now I finally manage to take the time for myself. It hasn’t been prioritized as I’m not wearing it outside and when I’m home I haven’t had the habit of changing into PJs. But ever since I made these, […]

First of all, I cut my hair short!!!!! I don’t think it has ever been this short ever since I turned double digits. It has been a bit of an adjustment, even though it’s a long bob cut it’s short. Now I just need to figure out what I can do with it. For this months make I made myself this snuggly knitted dress. I’m on my way of making all the knitted dresses! CLICK HERE TO READ THE BLOG […]

Another make is up on Minerva’s blogger network. This month I made myself another pinafore. Previously, I’ve made the Bibi pinafore from Tilly and the Buttons book Stretch, my Jiminy Cricket. I can’t say that I fell in love with the garment right away, but lately, it has grown on me. Although I need to do some adjustment on my next make I know now what those are. Yes, I’m terrible at making muslins. Don’t judge. CLICK HERE TO READ […]

Another pinafore under my belt*

Wow, I’m surprised that it’s been five months since Norwegian Constitution Day. The sun isn’t shining nowadays, but time for some reminiscing. This was my outfit this year. Since I don’t have a traditional Norwegian bunad, I make myself a fancy outfit each year. And this year, a jumpsuit is made instead of a dress. I made a straight US size 10, but for my next make, I think a size 8 bodice would be more fitting. There was a […]

I finally got around of making myself this pattern. Last time I made it back in 2016, I made too small and gave it away to a friend. This time it fits and it’s water resistent as well! How cool is that?! CLICK HERE TO READ THE BLOG POST Name: Flik from A Bug’s Life Pattern: Minoru jacket from Sewaholic Size: US 8 Fabric: Water resistent ripstop and slinky satin both from Minerva. Have you started on your autumn wardrobe yet? Or maybe you already have a wardrobe staple you’re comfortable with? I’m still working on finding mine and I think my newest make really fills a hole I’ve been missing. I don’t wear trousers much, but when I do I tend to go for black ones. The reason for that is my hair color. Since I’ve never colored my hair, it is as black as ever. So since my hair is black, […]

Ultimate wardrobe staple trousers

Even though the weather here in Trondheim hasn’t seen as much sun as it should have yet this summer, I have been busy making these two blouses to go with it when it decided to show. In comparison, these two blouses have nothing in common. One has loosely fitted, collar, dart bodice, and button closure. The other is close fitted, elastic neckline, princess seams, and zipper closure. CLICK HERE TO READ THE BLOG POST Name: Buck (from The Good Dinosaur) […]

*The pattern was gifted to me to test before release, fabric was also gifted in collaboration with the testing. I have been so lucky to be one of By Hand London’s pattern testers, and whenever they need a pattern to be tested I always make the time to do so. They are my first ever pattern company and they have a special place in my heart. This time is no exceptions. I wasn’t sure I would like the empire waist […]
