Yes, I made another one. Another plain yellow dress. You might remember other yellow dresses; Nala, Jane Porter, Lumiere and Tweety. This one was a bit of a purpose. On Instagram, I revealed to you which colours I’m using for my bridesmaid’s dresses. Pink, green, blue and purple. To get all the pastel colours, I’m the yellow one – because that’s my favourite colour. So when I purchased these fabric, and me being selfish, I had to have one for myself.

There was no doubt which pattern I was going to use for this bright wonderful lemon colour fabric. The Anna dress has been a solid one with it’s beautifully shaped bodice. I have never used the V-neckline so I figured I have a go at it. I do like it, but not as much as I like the boat neckline.

Instead of the panelled skirt, I wanted to make a full gathered skirt. It’s easier to make and gives it a more 50’s vibe, which I love. It’s hard to make beautiful dresses at the end of April and the weather says f*ck you I’m going to snow on your parade. I wear dresses almost daily so right now I’m wearing it with tights, but I wish that Trondheim will turn over to spring soon.  Wearing a dress on its own is so much more liberating.

Since I actually don’t have anything more to say, because it’s a pattern I’ve made before I’m just going to show you me in my new beautiful Joy dress.

I manage to complete all the four bridesmaids dresses before Easter so they could try it on. Thanks to Buddha, they all fit! I’m not going to show them just yet, but I’ll show you the hem. This was my best attempt at photographing the garments on my own and with very difficult natural light.

I haven’t had the chance to use any of these stitches from my machine yet, and this was a perfect opportunity! The top left is apples, top right is butterflies, bottom left is dogs and bottom right is cars. My hem is stars!
