Yes, yes, yes! I’m so happy to inform you that I’ve become one of Deer & Doe’s pattern testers! I can’t tell you enough how incredibly honoured I was when Camille contacted me. I am such a huge fan of D&D, you can see all that I’ve made from their company here! This jacket is unlined with loose sleeves, gathered back and notched collar. It is the perfect piece to throw over whatever you’re wearing in this transitioning weather that’s happening nowadays. There is snow in my pictures since I made this in February, but I can see it being used at the beach as an easy-peasy cover up, don’t you think?
As you might have realised, I made version B of the pattern, which has a slightly longer length and the add-on longer gathered sleeve. The length of the jacket hits me just below the hip bone and makes it such a modern shape. In the pictures, I just paired the jacket with a simple black RTW dress to show off the jacket. In retrospect, I would have gone with a fabric that didn’t have that big of a print, as it is hard to see the details in it. Next time I’ll go for a print that is much smaller, or maybe plain and do some colour blocking?
