The bird has landed!*

I have been so lucky to be one of By Hand London’s pattern testers, and whenever they need a pattern to be tested I always make the time to do so. They are my first ever pattern company and they have a special place in my heart.

This time is no exceptions. I wasn’t sure I would like the empire waist part of the pattern, but I totally love it! That is because the skirt of the pattern follows your down to your waist before it flares out. It has a very feminine silhouette and I totally fell in love with the sleeves of this version 2 of this pattern. The tie sleeves are beautiful and because of them, I didn’t need to make a full bicep adjustment. The combination of the sleeve and square neckline is exquisite!

As usually the gals over at By Hand London knows what they’re doing and in the process surprised me with their different pattern pieces that I never would’ve thought would fit me as much.

By testing the pattern, By Hand London got Stoff & Stil to sponsor us testers with fabrics from their store. I got this beautiful stripy viscose fabric with birds on them from them! It’s so pretty and soft, and I want to cuddle in it. I made the dress fully lined with white viscose fabric since I thought the fabric would’ve been a bit sheer on its own.

All in all, another satifying pattern from By Hand London, I’m planing my second one already, this time with the longer skirt from version 1 in a crepe fabric I got in my stash.
